The transformation of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza will be coordinated with the new proposed Metro Light Rail program
that just received approval from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Part of the 8.5 mile route is planned to run along Crenshaw Boulevard through the Leimert Park area. It will
travel west to Inglewood and continue south to Aviation Boulevard near LAX. According to Los Angeles Times reports,
the project could begin construction in the 2012/2013 time frame, with a completion date within five years after
construction starts. This is great news for the community.
