Getting Started
Over time, we envision transforming Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza into a landmark destination
that is the pride of our community – a modern and vibrant place that offers retail stores,
restaurants, services and amenities within an environment that embodies art, culture, entertainment
and the lifestyle of our community.
What is it?
It all starts with an Environmental Impact Report (EIR), which is currently in process. The EIR is the
first step towards obtaining the government approvals to make the transformation a reality.
The approvals lay the groundwork for transforming Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza into a mixed use hub serving
Baldwin Hills, Crenshaw and South Los Angeles.
The proposed upgrades to the 43-acre site represent an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars
that can bring dramatic benefits to the Crenshaw District.
